TechBuffalo welcomes DaMante’ Curry, our new Business Support Specialist to the team.
Why did you join the TechBuffalo team?
I wanted to be part of a team that was striving to make Buffalo a more equitable and inclusive environment, through direct community empowerment. Empowerment and providing generational opportunities are true passions of mine, so I knew TechBuffalo and this amazing team would be the perfect fit for me.
Why tech? Why Buffalo?
Tech constantly impacts individuals from all walks of life, making it truly one of the most foundational elements of modern society. Living in Buffalo gives you the chance to enjoy all four seasons, with genuine people that add to the overall energy and community feel of this area. Also, the diversity in Buffalo and the opportunity to experience all forms of culture is something I truly appreciate about living here.
What’s the best concert you’ve been to?
I have had the chance to attend many shows at various venues but without a doubt, Childish Gambino’s This is America Tour at Madison Square Garden, was my favorite. He is also my favorite musical artist and his television show, Atlanta, is truly great as well.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Yes, last year at Hertel Avenue’s 716day celebration I got to meet Dion Dawkins from the Buffalo Bills and Hip Hop Artist from Buffalo/Griselda, Benny the Butcher. Also, during my youth basketball days, I was teammates with current Los Angeles Lakers Player, Thomas Bryant.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Three essential items I would bring would be: a portable water filtration system, a flare, and the new iPhone 14 (that’s equipped with satellite connectivity). I also used to watch Survivor, so I am confident I would do okay on the island.
Who inspires you?
I would say many individuals, from those in my own life and others I have just seen, inspire me for various reasons. Ultimately, the future leaders and innovators who will aid in society’s overall progression inspire me the most.
Welcome to the team, DaMante’!
